Description

Batman Dark Knight fan art made as a surprise gift to my boyfriend

This one was a bit challenging for I never work with male models, but I like the way it turned out (though I had something radically different in mind when I started, anyway).

A Chevalier Noir indeed. You capture the essential image of Batman with your model, which in this particular depiction is obviously based on Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy, given the cape and cowl's likeness from there. The redness of Batman's eyes as well as those of the bats themselves further evokes some monstrous capacity, perhaps even the devil itself. The visual effects off the cape, the smoke or mist, definitely gives off some supernatural quality, as if making Batman more than just a man, which is of course, he is in many ways; he's extraordinary despite being an "ordinary" human without conventional superhuman abilities. The full moon, in spite of its brightness, also adds to dark and almost supernatural aspects of the character's world. My only complaints, however, are that the bats seem a bit out of place, being that high up in the sky. And that it appears to be almost daylight towards the very left side of Batman (the clouds' parting reveal brightness, suggesting sunlight) when there is a full moon. Other than these minor issues, this is still a great fan art work.
