So I recently saw french-german movie The Countess directed by Julie Delpy and was really and truly moved by the way she depicted the infamous countess Bathory. She sees her as a passionate and free woman, who falls into madness and violence after having been abandoned by her younger lover.
She spent her last 4 years of life imprisoned into her castle.

This image is dedicated to anyone who ever felt passion... and to those who inspire it.

There is another movie. I own it though I couldn't tell you where I found it. The title is "Eternal" and it is also based on Countess Bathory. It's more of a vampire-like movie though, she does have an odd take on how the blood of younger women gives her immortal life and she bathes in it to stay alive and young eternally. I am also going to feature this piece in my journal, you have so many works that I love.
