Hi guys :)

A quick note to let you know that I'm putting the final touches to the brand new cover artwork for metal supernatural thriller Epysode (AFM Records)
This 'all-star' project gathers members of Pain of Salvation, Evergrey, Symphony X and many more talented musiciens around project leader Virus IV's Samuel Arkan.
I am so darn happy that Samuel proposed me to work on this cd artwork and did my best to create the best artwork ever for this project. I really hope the cover will be revealed soon ^^

In the meantime I work on a new book cover for french publishing company Les Editions du Riez, and a new set of cards for game Legend of the Cryptids...and last but not least, cover art for my artbook will be revealed in less than one week, I am SO excited about all this, and I hope you'll like it as well ^^

Hi guys, I hope you're all doing fine :)

As you may have noticed (or not yet) I am now part of artists' roster of Applibot, Inc (Japan). They hired me two months ago to create cards for online/phone game Legend of the Cryptids and since then I worked lots !

I feel really honoured for they work with real masters of digital painting, and I feel like a little bee compared to them ! Anyway, here is the first set of artworks I created for them :

I am really excited about this new and challenging collaboration, and I hope you'll also like the upcoming cards I'll create ! Anyone here playing the game ?

Good morning folks !

I am so excited about this and so happy to finally announce this great news :

My first ARTBOOK "Requiem" will be published through french publishing company 'Les Editions du Chat Noir' on November 2013 !

The high quality, full colour artbook will compile old, recent and unreleased original artworks that will be linked together by a beautiful story written both in french and english by my friend and published author Arnaud Armant (Delcourt) (here on DA as *The-Underwriter)

We've been working on the project since last year (and I had this in mind for three years), and am really happy to announce this upcoming release. Book will be available in many retail stores, as well as on the editor online webshop and will be shipped worldwide !

A facebook page will soon be set up for you to stay updated about the release date, cover announcement, trailers, and more !

And here is press statement from the publishing company (in french)

Lots of love

Hello ^^

So let's announce this new and huge photomanip contest over at DA !
The contest is backed by #communityrelations with HUGE prizes and hosted by #CRPhotomanipulation

Here are the official news and rules taken from :iconsanguinevamp:'s journal and article that you can find here [link]

EXTREME PHOTOMANIPULATION CONTEST : REBIRTH AND RENEWAL

:bulletblue: What we mean by "Extreme" photomanipulation

You should reach beyond your comfort zone and create a deviation that is bold, unique, and better than you thought you could create. Try something new. Break the mold. You've got this!

We have HUGE prizes. So, we are expecting HUGE results.

:bulletblue:Theme: Rebirth and Renewal

Our theme, Rebirth and Renewal, was suggested by administrators of #CRPhotomanipulation. You are hereby challenged to create a photomanipulation that shows rebirth and/or renewal. For example, it could show a transformation of sorts, being brought to life, or perhaps shedding the old to reveal something fresh and beautiful (or ugly!) beneath. Perhaps your transformation is into death, and you can show that. You should interpret what being reborn or renewed means to YOU and then depict it in a photomanipulation.

:bulletblue:Time frame

The contest will be open for 2.5 months.

Contest opens: 15 January 2013
Contest closes: 1 April 2013, 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time (visit www.timeanddate.com to find out what time that is for you)

:bulletblue:The Rules

Here are the rules in detail:

Your entry MUST be a PHOTOMANIPULATION. That means it involves 2 or more photographic elements that have been combined to create something new. It is absolutely fine to have photomanipulations that have been painted over (and thus may technically be Mixed Media). SINGLE photographs that have ONLY been brushed or textured will not qualify. There must be at least 2 photographic elements. If you are in doubt, please check with us!

No entries created before January 15, 2013 will be accepted. Entries must be new and specifically created for this competition.

Contest closes at 11:59 PM PST on April 1st. No late entries will be accepted.

*ALL* stock must be credited, including brushes. All stock must be from legitimate sources. If you don't know where the stock that was used to create your premade background came from, don't use it. If you don't know where the cutout stock came from, don't use it. We will decline all entries with questionable stock. If you don't know, ask. Direct links are NOT necessary, but they are always appreciated.

Collaborations are OK, but if a prize is won, that prize will be split evenly among collaborators. If you are submitting a collaboration, you only need to submit the work once.

You may enter up to TWO deviations, but you can only win once.

Please include a statement in your artist's comments that you have created the deviation for the Rebirth and Renewal Photomanipulation Competition. Please link to this blog.

There are special rules and requirements for some categories. Please carefully read the submission requirements below.

:bulletblue:How do I submit?

There are three folders in #CRPhotomanipulation that are open for submission: BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE, and ADVANCED. You should choose which level you feel is most appropriate for your art and submit to that folder. There are special rules and requirements for some categories. Please read below to find out which one is best for your work! If you have questions, please ask.

Here is the rubric and rules for deciding where to submit:

:bulletpurple: BEGINNING ARTISTS must demonstrate knowledge of:

Cutting out stock properly
Arranging pieces to tell a story (effective composition)
Must use at least 2 tutorials (and cite them in artist's comments). They can be on or off of dA.

:bulletpurple: INTERMEDIATE ARTISTS must demonstrate knowledge of:

Composition
Color theory
Light and shadow
Proportions

:bulletpurple: ADVANCED ARTISTS must demonstrate mastery of:

Light and shadow
Composition
Blending (you can't tell it is made from different images)
Perspective
Flair (the "wow!" factor)
Must have at least one aspect that either (1) has a sense of movement, OR (2) defies the law(s) of physics (for example: defying gravity, energy being created or destroyed, etc.).

ALL ENTRIES will also be judged based on:

Impact
Storytelling (Is your image just a pretty picture, or does it tell a story?)
Creative interpretation of theme
Originality
Exceeding expectations (Is this a stand-out piece from your gallery?)

Submissions require one vote for approval. This is so that we can make sure they meet the contest rules; we are not screening for quality, etc.

To be clear, the admins of #CRPhotomanipulation will NOT move your deviation or choose the category to which it is submitted. That is entirely up to the artist. We reserve the right to suggest that a piece of art be submitted to a higher category-- for example, an advanced artist should not submit to the beginner category.

The Prizes

There will be one winner from each category. Each winner will receive:

My fellow deviants and friends,

I hope you're all doing fine ! I wanted to thank you warmly for the feedback on my newest artwork featuring the lovely and ever inspiring `faestock. This is really appreciated, even more since I am no longer the very active deviant I used to be. So a big  to all of you for not forgetting me :)

Well I also wanted to share the great news of my collaboration with Melissa Ferlaak (former Visions of Atlantis, Echoterra, Aesma Daeva) with you. Melissa asked me to create the logo of her new band Plague of Stars[link], and it's now visible on her page and mine.
So go and give her support for her new musical endeavour :) Plague of Stars will be a female fronted death/doom project. Last but not least *gogomelone has been in charge of the beautiful and eerie cover art ! So don't miss it ^^

Ok, I will have many new artworks available in a few days, especially book covers and two of my artworks will be used as cd art for metal bands, so I will announce this on time on my :facebook: Facebook Fanpage
Feel free to follow me there if you haven't already, your support means the world to me

Hi folks,

It's been a while since my last entry and since I got a peaceful day off today, I can sit down, stop for a while and take the time to share some thoughts with you.

October's not even over but to me 2012 is quickly drawing to its close, and I feel like giving a slight glance into the rearviewmirror. I started the year with the ferm intention of doing more personal art and the least I can say is that I (almost) failed. I really feel that is the price to pay when you're a professional artist, I mean, being commissioned all the time, rushing to finish before deadlines, all of this has to impact on something, and since I want to keep some time off the comp, personal art is a bit let aside. First half of the year was terrible for I got absolutely no time for anything, it was all about rushing, doing multiple tasks at the same time, organizing two art shows (Bordeaux and Paris), and this led me to questioning the importance of everything Ravendusk Design-related.
Anyway, I finally managed to take a good summer break, and went back on trail with a better way to plan my everyday life. Combining a full-time job with Ravendusk Design is tough, and this is where the things hurt the most.

Well, since September things are back to "normal", most of the art I did early 2012 is now released (Carcariass, Solisia, Dark Horizon, Nuit, Des filles et des Riffs vol3, Seed of Sadness...) and many new great collabs will be available soon/early 2013 (2 book covers, and 5 to 6 cd covers). I won't complain for sure, and am always delighted to start new collaborations. By the way I would like to give a big up and many thanks to all the stockers that offered me their images for commercial use, you guys just rock :)

When it comes to DA I am ALWAYS there, I connect every day and try to be active as much as I can. Whatever may happen it will still be THE place for me, and the sole place where I always submit my personal artwork first. However I hardly submit commissioned art over here so if you're interested in what I do for the music industry, feel free to add me on FB ([link] and on twitter [link] where I share all my info and news.

I think that's all for now,
Much love

Venez nombreux !

Hi guys,

So the opening reception of my art show in Bordeaux happened last night, and here are a couple of pictures for you :

Full album is available on my fb page [link]

I am darn exhausted but happy, for this was a really good time, the attendance was awesome ( approx. 100 people), everything went very fine, even the interview for regional newspaper Sud Ouest (omg I was so nervous answering the journalist's questions ! ^^) Anyway, I met great people, folks that follow me on DA or on FB, and my work received much praise, which made me really happy !!

Thanks to Jessica for hosting the event and to all who attended a big big thank you

Stay tuned for upcoming art shows very soon !!!

Much Love
